OnePlus X has been one of the most anticipated devices this month, and the rumor mills have been churning out leaks and information in full swing. After all those doses of speculations, finally we come to know that the OnePlus X will be released at an event to be held on October 29 (or 28 if you are in the US), simultaneously across six cities including New York, London and New Delhi.
The latest dope comes in the form of an invite from OnePlus which reads “See you on October 29, India” accompanied by what seems to be two saber lights arranged in an “X” fashion. So you get it right? OnePlus X will be the first phone from OnePlus which will not be a flagship offering, yet we wouldn’t be wrong to expect some class leading features, if previous OnePlus phones are something to go by. The invites surface just after the OnePlus X was spotted on the TENAA/FCC certifications.
On a much lighter note, the picture above shows Hugo Barra of Xiaomi holding what possibly looks like the OnePlus X/Mini whereas Pete Lau, the founder of OnePlus is apparently holding a Xiaomi device.
The OnePlus X is expected to come with a 4.9 or 5.2-inch FHD display and the chances are that it might be powered by either Helio X10 or the Snapdragon 801 processor along with a 2GB of RAM. The new OnePlus will be equipped with a 13-Megapixel primary sensor along with Phase Detection Auto Focus and Electronic Stability Sensor. On the connectivity front, the phone will include NFC, Type-C USB and a Synaptics S3708 clear force touch screen which works on the line of Apple’s 3D Touch, allowing users to access the menu with different layers of options which can be accessed with varying touch intensities.
The leaked spec sheet above says that the OnePlus will come preloaded with Oxygen OS 3.0 based on the latest Android Marshmallow. That being said, the authenticity of the document is extremely questionable and we need to treat it just like any other piece of rumor, with loads of salt obviously. The OnePlus X is also expected to come with a IP67 certification and wireless charging. The smartphone will feature 32GB of internal storage and just like all the other OnePlus devices, we doubt the existence of a memory card slot. Once in the market, the OnePlus X will go loggerheads with Xiaomi Mi 4c as it is expected to be priced in the similar price bracket. Just a couple of days back, OnePlus announced that their upcoming device will be assembled in India.
