Lenovo has invoked our interest after it announced the Zuk Z1 earlier this year. The ZUK branding is part of Lenovo’s plan to take on the likes of Xiaomi and concentrate only on the online mode of marketing. The Zuk Z1 further drew our attention as it was one of the few devices which were being offered loaded with Cyanogen OS out of the box. Now fast forward to today, Zuk Z2 renders have surfaced and they indeed look promising.
The leaked renders don’t try to conceal anything and show off the phone in its fullest glory, the first thing that caught our attention is the swiveling camera setup. Now this isn’t something we would term innovative, in fact Nokia N90 had a similar camera unit almost a decade ago, but still interesting. Unlike the vertically swiveling camera unit on the Oppo N1, the one on the Zuk Z2 will rotate horizontally.
Apart from the camera unit, the phone comes clad in a metal finish, 2.5D glass at both the sides and it is expected to draw its power from the Snapdragon 820, although this is more of a calculative guess considering the fact that Z1 is powered by the Snapdragon 810. If rumor mills are to be believed, the phone is expected to be launched in 2016. Since we all are aware it’s just a render, which means it might also be a concept designed by anyone on this planet, that being said if the device is indeed on cards, the chances are that it will be spotted elsewhere, before its officially unveiled.
Stay tuned for more news around Zuk.
