Intex has forayed into the wearable arena with FitRist smartband. The FitRist band seems to pack in quite a punch at just Rs 999 which will pit it against the likes of Xiaomi Mi band and YuFit. The FitRist looks good and unlike the Mi band it comes with a display and a button toggle to control the same.
The FitRist heralds with features like step monitoring, distance measurement, calorie count and sleep monitoring. Just like most of the other fitness bands out there, FitRist will communicate with its companion app using the Bluetooth on the phone and once it is synced, the app will beam users with the relevant notifications. Additionally, the band also comes with a trigger which will let you track the paired smartphone.
The display is sized at 0.86-inhes and the battery is expected to last for 12-days. The FitRist is water resistant and splash proof, the companion app will run on Android and iOS. The fitness band also comes with yet another interesting feature i.e the camera shutter button which will let you control the smartphone camera remotely from the band. It seems as if the FitRist tries to strike a balance between the Fitness trackers and the smartwatch by displaying notification for calls and messages.
At the price point, the Intex FitRist commands an edge over other bands, but that being said, it will all depend on what the degree of precision the band will work with. Goqii band is yet another fitness tracker which is priced higher than the FitRist but it will comes integrated with an on demand trainer program. Personally, a display on the fitness tracker has always been handy and the lack of same can be a deal breaker. Xiaomi is also expected to come out with their iterative upgrade for the Mi Band soon. The Intex FitRist will be available online in Dark Blue and White color schemes.
