It is every now and then that we see new Chinese brands making debut in India, the economy of scale has been one of the major catalyst for new players to make a foray into Indian market. In the meanwhile, Smartron, an Indian tech brand is aiming to shape up as a premium tech company that would deal in almost everything including IoT, computers and smartphones.
Smartron has today unveiled a bunch of new products at an event thus officially making a foray into consumer electronics market. The phone is called t.phone and it boasts of being the lightest 5.5-inch premium smartphone that was launched by none other than the master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar himself. He is also one of the stakeholders in Smartron. The phone comes treated with a dual tome colour and it sure does look premium.
Smartron Drone was yet another exhibit that displayed the degree of diversification in the company’s product line. Apart from the smartphone and the drone, Smartron is also readying t.book, a 12.2-inch tablet and a laptop hybrid powered by Intel Core M processor. The company says that the next generation of smart IoT devices, platforms and services from Smartron will be built on the premise of Internet of Tron (IoT) which focuses on providing an equalized user experience disregard of whether the user is in car, house, office or any other public place. For this very reason Smartron has introduced a new feature called “Hubtron” which will be baked into all of its devices and will allow the users to access their contents including profile data, documents and other files via the Hub.
The t.book is priced at Rs 39,999 and it comes with a kickstand on which the display will rest. The t.book can be setup in different positions just like the Lenovo Yoga series and the 12.2-inch WQXGA display is touch sensitive. The t.book will retail with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 128GB of SSD, further it also accommodates microSD cards up to 128GB. It comes with a 5-Megapixel primary snapper and a 2-Megapixel secondary sensor. On the connectivity front the hybrid comes with USB Type-C port, dual-band Wi-Fi, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and a micro HDMI port.
If you are looking out to buy the t.book mobile workstation, you can do so by heading over to Gadget 360 on April 8th whereas the t.phone booking will be a bit delayed at April 18th where it will have a formal launch in Hyderabad. The company’s operations have been commissioned in Hyderabad and Bengaluru and they plan to invest well over $100-Million for R&D operations.
