Microsoft has been pushing Windows 10 aggressively but the efforts seemed to be a little lethargic when it came to the smartphones. Microsoft has bought in new phones including the flagship Lumia 950 which debuted with Windows 10 and has also announced a bunch of phones which will be able to get an update. Microsoft has now announced Lumia 650, dual SIM LTE enabled phone. The design looks sleek, thanks to the 6.9mm thickness and the matte finish treatment.
The Lumia 650 comes with a 5-inch OLED display set at a resolution of 720p and is powered by the Snapdragon 212 clocked at 1.2GHz alongside 1GB of RAM. The ClearBlack display comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and uses AMOLED technology. On the imaging front Microsoft has incorporated 8-Megapixel primary sensor and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. Lumia 650 offers 16GB of internal storage and also a microSD card slot that can squeeze in an extra 200GB.
As expressed earlier the Lumia 650 runs on Windows 10 and is powered by a 2000mAh battery pack which the company claims that it will offer a talk time of 16 hours. The phone will be bundled with the usual array of Microsoft apps and will be sold in both matte black and matte white color schemes. Microsoft has announced a best buy price of Rs 15,299 for the Lumia 650.
At the outset the specification doesn’t seem to justify the price tag but having used Windows 8 phone for a couple of years i can safely say one thing, Windows phone are less resource hogging than Android, in fact i could effortlessly play the then famous title, Asphalt 7 in Lumia 720 which came with a 512MB RAM. If you are on a lookout for a Windows 10 smartphone with a sub 15k budget in mind, the Lumia 650 may be the one for you.
