HTC is expected to launch its 2016 flagship, the HTC 10 in India on Thursday, 26th May. The phone was unveiled back in April this year, and there were some unpleasant reports of HTC offering a watered down variant called HTC 10 Lifestyle with Snapdragon 652 and 3GB RAM to its Indian audience. Thankfully, soon enough, HTC India clarified with TechPP that they will indeed be launching the real flagship HTC 10 in India too. Now they have sent out a press invite which in all probability is for the launch of HTC 10.
The latest flagship from HTC comes with an all metallic build like its predecessor, but a relatively refreshed design. The display shapes up as a 5.2-inch QHD unit and the device is powered by the Snapdragon 820 alongside a 4GB of RAM. On the imaging front HTC 10 will boast of a 12-Ultrapixel primary camera unit and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. The camera unit will be supplemented with Optical Image Stabilisation, f/1.8 aperture, Pro Mode, Zoe Capture, hyper lapse, 12X slow motion mode and 4K video recording.
The other features include Fingerprint sensor, 3000mAh battery, USB Type-C, Dolby Audio, Personal Audio Profile, NFC and the usual bevy of connectivity options. HTC also claims that the HTC 10 is the world’s first phone to come with 24-bit Hi-Res audio recording.
We still aren’t sure if HTC will launch both the HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle in India. But for now, we will be more interested to see how well it’s priced as compared to the flagships from the arch rivals Samsung and LG. Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been doing pretty well in India, and LG G5 will be launching on June 1st with an MRP of Rs 52,990. We wonder if LG’s G5 launch had anything to do with this sudden announcement from HTC. In any case we will be looking forward to the launch in New Delhi on May 26th.
