It’s not that we have a dearth of affordable smartphones with great hardware but ZTE has anyways launched the Zmax Pro. At $99 the ZTE Zmax Pro is probably the most affordable phone that comes with features like Fingerprint sensor and a full HD display. The ZTE Zmax Pro is designed elegantly and there seem to be absolutely no signs of cutting the corners.
The ZTE Zmax Pro comes equipped with a 6-inch FHD display and draws the power from a Snapdragon 617 alongside 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers a commendable 32GB of internal storage along with a hybrid SIM card slot.
The ZTE Zmax Pro comes with a 13-Megapixel primary sensor along with a 5-Megapixel secondary one. Powering the device is a 3400 mAh battery along with Quick Charge support and Type-C USB charging. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow. In some sense, the ZTE Zmax Pro is capable of competing with Moto G4 and Honor 5X, smartphones twice its price.
ZTE CEO Lixin Cheng said that “Affordability is part of our DNA,” he further added, “The high-end phone market is shrinking, and that making more affordable devices is the company’s mission.” ZTE Zmax Pro is capable of creating a dent in the market especially with its low pricing strategy and the fact that it is well endowed with features and specifications. ZTE has been picking up some pace in the market after it managed to sell 15 million handsets in 2015. Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been known to offer the best specs and features at a given price point.
The only con is that the ZTE Zmax Pro currently comes locked to MetroPCS/T-Mobile and it is most likely that the unlocked version will cost a premium.
