Xiaomi may have launched two new devices in the form of Redmi Pro and Mi Notebook Air yesterday, but that doesn’t stop the Chinese internet firm from launching yet another product – Mi Yeelight LED strip!

Unlike the previous Yeelight though, this isn’t a smart bulb or a smart lamp, instead it is an LED strip – similar to the ones people use for decorating their house or offices during festivals. Just like previous out of the box products from Xiaomi, this too will be a part of the Mi Home ecosystem under MIJIA, which has launched other products like Mi Pen, smart toothbrush, Mi Drone etc.

In case you have been wondering all the while, what’s so special about this LED strip from Xiaomi, then it’s worth noting that these lights can be controlled directly from your smartphone. The flexible LED strip is made up of 60 high quality RGB bulbs that comes with the capability of portraying 16 million colors. The Xiaomi Yeelight is built from soft PU colloidal mercury with a high transmittance and capability of resisting oxidation. That aside, one can install the Yeelight LED strip in a jiffy thanks to its non-destruction peel able adhesive installation.

The Xiaomi Yeelight LED Strip comes with touch buttons and a switch for turning it on and off. Besides that, there is one non-touch manual button that can be used for switching between colors. Xiaomi also claims that their Mi Yeelight can last as long as 25,000 hours in a single service life.

The Xiaomi Yeelight LED strip goes on sale starting today and is available on the company’s official crowdfunding portal at a price of just 169 Yuan (Rs 1,699/$25). Sadly, like many other Mijia products from Xiaomi, this one too may not ever be available in international markets. However, one can always import them via third party sellers at slight marked up prices.
