Vivo has updated its Y line-up with Y21L, a 4G VoLTE enabled smartphone priced at Rs 7,490. The Vivo Y line-up is known for its affordable smartphones. Vivo claims that the VoLTE-Enabled Vivo Y21L will better the quality of the calls and also improve signal reception. The device will be available on PAN India basis in white and gray color.

The Y21L comes equipped with a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) and will be powered by Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.2GHz alongside 1GB of RAM. On the memory front, the device offers 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot that can further accommodate up to 128GB. The camera setup consists of a 5-Megapixel primary sensor with LED flash and a 2-Megapixel secondary sensor. Furthermore, the camera app comes with features like palm capture, voice capture and the usual set of camera modes.

The Vivo Y21L runs on the Funtouch OS 2.5 which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is backed by a 2000mAh battery pack. Other interesting features include Smart Click and Smart Wake technology. The Smart Click feature lets the user bring up customized features or apps by long pressing the volume control key. The Smart wake feature will let users wake up the device by simply swiping on the lock screen, for instance, one can simply swipe an ā€œCā€ to open the camera.

That being said, the Vivo Y21L still falls short of the features as opposed to its competitors and at the given price point it will be an uphill task for Vivo to gain some traction with the Y21L.
