Moto G-Play is the latest addition to Lenovo owned Motorola’s expanding smartphone lineup in India. Priced at Rs 8,999, the Moto G4 Play aims to cater to the budget segment which apparently is the most sought-after category in India.

Just like its other Moto G4 sibling, the Moto G4 Play comes with a matte finish polycarbonate body that sports a slight camera bulge and a prominent Motorola logo just below it. As expected the Motorola G4 Play sports a 5 inch HD display upfront and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip under the hood. This modestly powerful SoC is clubbed with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage, thereby providing a decent hardware for its price. That said, the Moto G4 Play isn’t as powerful like some of its competitors from China, especially the segment leading Xiaomi Redmi 3S. But what is misses out in terms of hardware, is compensated by its smooth and snappy stock build of Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.

Speaking of cameras, the Moto G Play comes with an 8MP f/2.2 rear shooter with a LED flash and a 5MP f/2.2 selfie snapper clubbed with Display Flash. Apart from these, the budget smartphone from Motorola comes with a water repellant Nano coating and support for 4G VoLTE thereby making it a suitable device for use on the recently announced Reliance Jio network. The rest of specifications include a 2800mAh battery with Quick Charge support via 10W charger, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and A-GPS.
