At their event in San Francisco, Google finally made their new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones official. They pack the best of Android including the artificially intelligent Google Assistant and feature top-of-the-line hardware. The search engine giant, along with US prices, also revealed when the devices will be available for pre-order in India – October 13th starting at Rs 57,000 (~USD 855) and given their recent aggressive updates for emerging markets, we’re not really surprised.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL will be up for pre-ordering on offline as well as online platforms on Flipkart and at over 1000 plus organized and multi-brand retail stores with leading retail partners including Reliance Digital, Croma and Vijay sales among others. The base variant of Pixel is priced at INR 57,000 with interest-free EMI programs (because you will obviously need them) and attractive upgrade offers will be available. Additionally, Pixel users will have access to a toll-free phone support number along with 54 walk-in service centers across 30+ cities in India. While the cost for the larger Pixel XL, we expect it to be around INR 69,000.

For the uninitiated, both of the Pixel and Pixel XL offer identical specifications with variations in display and battery sizes. The former’s front panel is sized at 5-inch with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and the latter is fitted with a 5.5-inch Quad HD one, both AMOLED. They flaunt an aluminum unibody and polished glass materials. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 and 4GB of RAM power them.

Moreover, the camera arrangement sustains a rear 12.3-Megapixel shooter with an aperture of f/2.0, 1.55um pixel size (expect better low light shots), and 4K video recording. The secondary camera shapes up in the form of an 8-Megapixel sensor. The smaller Pixel runs on a 2,770mAH battery pack, the Pixel XL on 3,450mAh. Although, the focal point of these phones is the Android 7.1 software that is now integrated with Google Assistant. They’ll be available in two storage options, 32GB and 128GB, color shades include “Really blue”, “Very white”, and “Quite Black”.

Update: We now have the prices for all variants. The 32GB variant of Pixel will cost Rs 57,000, while the 128GB is priced at Rs 66,000. The bigger Pixel XL starts at Rs 67,000 for the 32GB version while the 128GB is priced at Rs 76,000.
