WhatsApp has been pushing a ton of new features via the beta program and these features may or may not make it to the forthcoming beta iterations. The reason for this is that WhatsApp beta features make it to the official version only when they prove their mettle through the testing. This time around WhatsApp blog has announced that the company has made some camera features which we saw on the beta version official. The new buffet of features includes doodle on pictures, ability to use the screen as flash and a bunch of other features.
Now WhatsApp users will be able to add stickers and drawings to photos and videos taken on WhatsApp. Also, the display would double up as a screen flash while taking selfies, a feature we have already seen in few smartphones. While recording video one can also zoom easily by swiping the fingers up and down. If you want to switch from the rear camera to the front camera you can do so by double tapping on the screen. The downside though is that both the features only work on WhatsApp camera and will not work on the attachments.
It was last year when WhatsApp was not allowing any links to Telegram services. This, however, seems to be solved as WhatsApp is once again allowing users to send Telegram links. Bigger Emojis which we have already seen in the Beta version might also make an appearance in the official release along with the stickers that we talked about earlier.
It is yet to be seen on whether an update is needed to get these features or WhatsApp has already baked the features in a previous version of the app and just needs to be activated. That said, the app is expected to go live today and should be available for both Android and iOS.
