If you own a latest MacBook Pro the chances are that you might have already fallen for the tiny LCD Strip that Apple calls Touch Bar. Microsoft had earlier announced the support for the Office on the MacBook Pro and now with the February update, they have added a bunch of new features across Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Microsoft already has special layouts ready for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The update will now allow Office for Mac users to insert comments, hyperlinks, and media directly from the Touch Bar and PowerPoint users will be treated to view-specific controls for presentations. The controls that are available when your presentation is ongoing include, Slideshow View, slide thumbnails, and a real-time timer. The best use case, however, will be when one is using Word Focus Mode(now available for Mac), a mode wherein all the toolbars and other distractions are tucked away from the display, with the TouchBar support up and running Office users can use all the toolbars while using the Word Focus Mode.
Microsoft Word users can also apply a new style to a heading or paragraph and will have an access to most relevant features on the TouchBar. In the meanwhile Touch Bar in Powerpoint will allow users to adjust the graphical elements letting them move the objects exactly where they want to. Moving on, typing an equal sign into a cell in Excel will populate the most recently used functions and also provides quick access to features like borders, cell collars and also recommended charts. Also, the Object rotation slider we talked about earlier will facilitate a more intuitive and precise rotation experience.
