Lenovo has introduced four new Android tablets at the Mobile World Congress. The new Tab 4 series features impressive hardware on paper and is priced in the low and mid-range segments, both categories where Android tablets have never been able to truly excel.
All of the four tablets come with a premium “dual-glass” design which essentially, translates to a glass front and back. They will be available in two colour options – Black and White. The new tablets primarily differ in terms of size, the Tab 4 8 (yes, they need better naming) and Tab 4 8 Plus offer 8-inch displays, whereas the Tab 4 10, and Tab 4 10 Plus sport a 10-inch panel. Next major difference is ofcourse, in the specifications.
Starting with the Tab 4 8, it features a 720p display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB internal storage, and a 4850mAh battery. It comes with Android Nougat out-of-the-box which is quite commendable considering the price which is only $109. Yes, you read that right.
The 8-inch Plus variant, on the other hand, offers a much better Full HD panel up front and runs on the Snapdragon 625 processor. There’s 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB onboard space, USB Type-C for charging, and a 4,850mAH battery. It too comes with Android Nougat, but here, you also get a fingerprint sensor, all for a bargain of $199.
Moving on to the 10-inch models, the standard variant rocks a 720p display and features similar specifications to its 8-inch counterpart. The only difference is in the battery, 7,000mAh instead of 4,850. This one will retail at $149. The Plus variant of the same comes with the exact same hardware as the 10-inch Plus model but gets an upgrade in terms of battery – 7,000mAh. The 10-inch Tab 4 Plus is priced at $249.
Furthermore, Lenovo will be also selling a range of accessories including a kid-proof case rugged case and first-party keyboard with a protective sleeve. All the four tablets will go on sale sometime in May.
