The Xiaomi Redmi 4, Prime, 4X, and 4A are expected to be launched in India at an event in Delhi on 20 March 2017. Xiaomi has sent out invites that request to join the Xiaomi’s press briefing which will be presided over by Manu Jain and Jai Mani. Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 4 and the Redmi 4A in November last year in China. The Redmi 4 is the successor to the Redmi 3S while the Redmi 4A is a budget variant of the same.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 430 along with 2GB of RAM. The storage options on the device include 16GB of internal memory along with a microSD (Hybrid SIM slot) card slot that can accommodate up to 256GB. The Redmi 4 features a 13-Megapixel primary sensor and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. The device runs on Android Marshmallow and is backed by 3,100mAh battery pack.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4X comes equipped with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 435 alongside 3GB/2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers 16GB/32GB of onboard storage along with a dedicated microSD card slot that can further accommodate up to 256GB. The imaging arrangements on the device include 13-Megapixel Primary sensor with f/2.0, LED flash and a 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. The Redmi 4X runs on Android 6.1 Marshmallow and is backed by a 4,100mAh battery pack.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is the pricier and more powerful sibling. It packs a 5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core chip without cores clocked at 2GHz each. This is mated with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime variant comes with 32GB internal storage and also has the option for memory expansion via MicroSD card slot. The rest of the specifications are however quite similar. The Redmi 4 Prime shares the 4,100mAh battery unit with the 4X.

Apart from these three Xiaomi is also expected to launch the affordable Xiaomi Redmi 4A variant, internally the smartphone boasts of a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with cores clocked at 1.4GHz each. The processor is mated with Adreno 308 GPU which in turn is clocked at 500MHz. The rest of the specifications include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory and expandable storage up to 128GB. In terms of cameras, the Redmi 4A comes with 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. There’s also a 5MP front camera for taking selfies. The Redmi 4A, however, will settle for a smaller 3120mAh battery and will run Android Marshmallow 6.0 with the MIUI 8 layering.
