Xiaomi had been teasing about its upcoming smartwatch for the past few days and now the company has finally pulled the wraps from the same. The Hey 3S (yes, that’s the name) is a smartwatch from WeLoop which is a Xiaomi-backed company and comes with a 1.28-inch display, GPS-Glonass and weighs in at 38gms. The problem, however, is that the Hey 3S seems to be heavily inspired by the Apple Watch, so much so that some people have been referring to it as “fully functional Apple Watch clone.”
At the outset, the Hey 3S seems more like a smartwatch and a fitness tracker blended into one device. Apart from keeping a tab on your daily activities the Hey 3S also monitors your heart rate, distance traveled and quality of sleep. Xiaomi has been touting the battery life of the device which is rated at 30-days and this is something commendable for a smartwatch with a standalone GPS. The watch can be charged with the magnetic charging dock bundled along with it.
The Hey 3S is priced at 539 Yuan (Rs 4923) and the company has not yet announced the international availability of the wearable. The smartwatch is up for crowdfunding on Xiaomi’s portal and had garnered 618,722 Yuan overshooting the target by over 574% at the time of writing this post. The smartwatch comes with Bluetooth 4.2 and it also connects with your phone to display the notification, call control, control music, read messages and is waterproof up to 50 meters.
In other news, Xiaomi owned subsidiary, Huami, has announced a new wearable in their Amazfit lineup. Called the Amazfit Health Band, the fitness tracker comes with a real-time heart rate monitor and an inbuilt chip capable of recording ECG data. The Amazfit Health Band comes equipped with a 0.42-inch OLED display and the battery is rated to last for 7 days. The fitness tracker will be available in Deep Black, Rose Gold and Sapphire Blue colors. Huami Amazfit Health Band is IP67 certified and can be submerged in water for up to a meter.
