It is not uncommon for people to fumble with their AC remote control and change the temperature settings throughout the day. It’s pretty obvious that as and when the outside temperature changes the room temperature should also adjust accordingly, however, what’s not obvious is that temperature is only one of the parameters to decide your comfort level. My AC unit has a nasty habit of waking me up in the middle of the night shivering in cold as it is not built to automatically adjust to the outside temperatures. Ambi Climate 2 is a Kickstarter project that promises to solve this problem for once and forever.
However before we check out the actual product here is a little context, I have been relying on AccuWeathers RealFeel temperature over the recent years since it not only displays the temperature but also uses multiple factors including humidity, cloud cover, sun intensity along with the wind in order to help us understand how it feels outside. The Ambi Climate 2 uses the same approach and goes a step beyond by actually micromanaging the air conditioning for you.
The Ambi climate doesn’t just stop at that and it also leverages the data mined by its AI to account for other factors including your metabolic cycle and unique profile. Being powered by AI the Ambi Climate works better as and when we keep on using it. Adding to the bonus is the claim that the Ambi Climate reduces up to 30-percent of the energy bill, if this is indeed achievable then we are looking at substantial savings.
Just like most of the other smart devices, the Ambi Climate comes with different modes. Away Mode is when you are not in the house and want to maintain the temperature and humidity to a certain level and the device will do all that it takes to maintain the AC within the prescribed thresholds. The Multi-User Geo-Location is a mode wherein the AC will be switched on just prior to the person arriving home so that when you set your foot inside your home the temperature is just at the right level.
The Ambi Climate app integrates with Amazon Alexa and IFTTT, next time you want to adjust the temperature just add the skill to Alexa and you are good to go. The device also serves users with insightful stats like the AC usage, runtime, average temperature and humidity along with the modes you prefer the most. The power supply for the Ambi Climate is via a 5V DC through the microUSB. Ambi Climate 2 is up on Kickstarter and the pledge starts from $99. The product is expected to be shipped out in October 2017.
