Lenovo-backed Motorola may be currently busy launching a slew of new smartphones, but that doesn’t stop it from silently launching the successor to the Motorola Verve Cam in the USA. Dubbed the Verve Cam+, the latest accessory is now available for sale via Amazon at a price of approximately $108.
The Motorola Verve Cam+ is a round shaped pocketable action camera primarily intended for live streaming. It is the successor to the original Verve Cam which made its debut at the MWC last year. The Verve Cam+ is capable of recording 2.5K videos at 30 fps. It offers up to 90 minutes of video capture time. The action camera also comes with a built-in video stabilizer.
The Verve Cam+ comes with an IPX4 rating for water resistance which makes it waterproof up to 25 meters. Further Motorola is also selling an IP68 waterproof case for the camera. Apart from that, the Verve Cam+ comes with a number of accessories including a wearable clip, tripod screw, and a bumper case. Incidentally, all these accessories are included in the retail package.
The Motorola Verve Cam+ can be controlled by a paired smartphone via Bluetooth 4.1 or Wi-Fi. The Hubble Connect for Verve Life app comes with a number of features including a viewfinder, ability to edit images, option to add videos and live stream on social media and a multitude of effects. The camera offers a connectivity range of up to 80 meters. Besides, the camera also comes with an SD card slot which supports cards up to 32GB.
The live streaming action camera comes only in white color. The retail listing on Amazon USA currently reveals a shipping time frame of one to two months.
Motorola had initially debuted its Verve lineup of products back in 2016. It included devices like the Verve Loop, Verve Ones, Verve Rider and Verve Retrieve. Unfortunately, the company didn’t launch any new devices under the Verve lineup thereafter. So it’s quite interesting to see Motorola inject a new life into its Verve lineup with the new live streaming action camera.
