Xiaomi Mi MIX received a phenomenal response from fans and media alike when it was launched last year. Naturally, there’s a lot of fanfare behind its successor. Xiaomi has already announced that it will unveil the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 at an event in China on September 11. Now it seems that Mi MIX 2 won’t be the only star of the event. Rather, the Chinese brand is planning to debut its Mi Note 3 at the same event.
Just like the Mi MIX 2, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is a highly anticipated from the Chinese firm. For those unaware, the Mi Note 3 is the successor to the company’s range topping phablet, the Mi Note 2. Lin Bin, President of Xiaomi, has now revealed that the brand plans to launch its Mi Note 3 soon. On a previous occasion, Lin had exposed the company’s plan of launching another device along side its bezel less Mi MIX 2.
Both the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 and Mi Note 3 were the center stage of rumor for Xiaomi tipsters worldwide. And now, it seems like Lin Bin has spilled some beans regarding the specifications of the Mi Note 3. According to him, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is essentially a larger version of the company’s flagship Mi6. This means the premium phablet will sport a display bigger than the 5.15-inch panel found on the Xiaomi Mi6. Most probably, it will come with a 5.7-inch QHD display.
Furthermore, the Mi Note 3 is expected to share most of its internals with its smaller sibling. It includes Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa core processor, 6GB RAM, and 12MP dual rear cameras. Xiaomi, however, is expected to tweak around with one or two specifications of the Mi Note 3.
Because the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will sport a markedly larger display, we can expect it to come with a larger battery as well. The 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display may also be curved on both sides, an implementation that made its debut on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The phablet is expected to come in multiple color options. It is expected to price upwards of 2,999 Yuan.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, on the other hand, has already leaked online. Phillippe Starke, the chief designer of the Mi MIX range, has left nothing to the imagination. The concept smartphone now has more curved than before. The edges are rounded, and the display too is curved at the edges. So, we can expect the Mi MIX 2 to come with better handling properties.
