Xiaomi today unveiled the bezel-less Mi Mix 2 at an event in China. The bezel-less Mi Mix successor comes with a couple of improvements and more importantly it offers 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi also launched a ceramic unibody Special Edition of the Mi Mix, the one that comes powered by 8GB of RAM. Yes, apart from being an aesthetic delight, the Mi Mix 2 leaves no stones unturned when it comes to hardware.
Despite being one of Xiaomi’s major markets, India doesn’t get to see the newly launched smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer on a timely basis (though that’s slowly changing). The Mi Mix never came to India and neither did the Mi6. However, all that seems to be changing since Manu Jain, Xiaomi has announced that it will be bringing the Mi Mix 2 to India soon.

This piece of news is expected to delight Xiaomi fans as they don’t have to wait long to buy the Mi Mix 2 in India. That being said an exact timeline has not been mentioned and we hope that the company will introduce the device in the next two months or so.
A quick recap, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes equipped with a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display and the device now offers 18:9 aspect ratio as opposed to the 17:7 offered by the Mi Mix. On a related note the 18:9 aspect ration has now become quite popular with Samsung, LG and other OEM’s using it on their smartphones. In all likelihood, the new aspect ratio might also help achieve better ergonomics. The storage options for the Mi Mix 2 include 64GB/128GB/256GB.
The pricing for the Mi Mix 2 starts at RMB 3299 ($506/Rs 32,346) for the 6GB/64GB, RMB 3,599 ($552/Rs 35,288) for the 6GB/128GB and RMB 3999 ($613/Rs 39,210) for the 6GB/256GB variant. In all likelihood, the Mi Mix 2 may be priced in the 30K-35K in India and that puts it at loggerheads with other offerings like Honor 8 Pro and the OnePlus 5.
