Blackberry, in collaboration with its manufacturing partner TCL, has launched a new smartphone at GITEX in Dubai. It is called the BlackBerry Motion. The smartphone will be initially available for sale in select markets including UAE and Saudi Arabia for a price of $460.
The BlackBerry Motion is apparently a KEYone without the physical keyboard. It not only shares numerous design elements with the KEYone but also comes with near-identical specifications. The Motion is an all-touch smartphone that features a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It’s standard 16:9 display and there’s nothing really flashy about it. Additionally, the BlackBerry Motion comes with an IP67 water and dust proof certification.
Under the hood, the new BlackBerry is a powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-core chip. This is a popular chip that’s found inside numerous 2017 smartphones including the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5 Plus. Apart from that, the Motion features 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. One of the main highlights of the TCL made BlackBerry is its 4,000 mAh battery. BlackBerry has equipped the Motion with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
The BlackBerry Motion, which was initially rumored to be called the ‘Krypton’ rocks a 12MP f/2.0 rear camera with a dual LED flash. That aside, it has an 8MP front camera for selfies. The Android-powered smartphone targeted mainly at enterprise and business customers also features a fingerprint scanner. The sensor is placed in a rectangular button located just below the display. Moreover, the BlackBerry Motion comes with dual SIM and is the first phone to launch with the same in the Middle East.
