Fujifilm has announced the new Instax Share SP-3 SQ mobile printer. Even in the digital age, some prefer the mobile printers to bring the digital copies to life via the 1:1 aspect ratio. The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 SQ uses the Instax Square format film, the same one used on the SQ10 instant camera.
Square format has often been popular for portraits and mugshots. In fact, iOS camera app boasts of a similar square photography mode from quite some time. The square photographs have found a new lease of life with the advent of Instagram. The Instax Share SP-3 SQ can be used to take printouts of Instagram photos without altering its properties.
The mobile printer is bundled with Instax Share app which allows users to edit the photos before printing them. Interestingly the app also allows users to access the Instagram accounts and print the photos. Users will also be able to mention a specific hashtag and all the photos with that particular hashtag will be printed in a single go. The app also offers integration with Dropbox, Google Photos, and Facebook.
The Instax Share app includes a set of elementary editing features like the Collage Template which prints up to nine photos in a 3 x 3 grid and the “Split Template” which literally splits single image to create larger prints. That apart the app also offers frames and additional overlays for the added funk. Other options include a “Real Time template” which prints the weather details, date, place and humidity on the pictures.
The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-3 SQ is expected to be available starting from November and is priced at $200. As per the company, the printer will take 13 seconds to print one photograph and a single charge is good enough for 160 prints. A 10-exposure box of Instax Square film costs an additional $14.
