Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are one of the most highly anticipated phones. Tipsters believe that Samsung would choose the MWC 2018 to debut its next flagship lineup. Now, a new leak coming from a reputed case company Olixar, clearly reveals that design of the Galaxy S9 range.
Initial rumors regarding the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ hinted at the presence of an iPhone X like tri-bezel less display. The leaked renders by Olixar however, confirm something else. The smartphones are apparently seen featuring the same 18:9 Infinity Display as found in their predecessors. The display sizes are set to be little different this time around. Its speculated that Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will come with a slightly smaller 5.65-inch and 6.1-inch QHD+ Infinity Display.
The accidentally shared leaked renders of the Galaxy S9 series cases show a new fingerprint placement. This doesn’t come as surprise considering the fact that the Korean maker faced heavy criticism for placement of the sensor last time around. Apparently, it was so hard to reach the sensor, which was then located to the right of the camera on the Galaxy S8 that many were forced to just stick to Iris Scanner or Smart Unlock for securing their device. Both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ has the fingerprint sensor located just below the rear shooter. The heart rate sensor and the LED flash are still situated to the right.
Another interesting revelation is the presence of the dual rear camera on the Samsung Galaxy S9+. The details regarding the sensor setup aren’t known yet, but expect more information to be leaked in the coming days. The Samsung Galaxy S9 on the other hand rocks a single rear shooter, which possibly is a 12MP unit. The button placements of the both the smartphones are similar to their predecessor. The Bixby button is still there on the left along with the volume rockers, while the Power button lies on the right. Moreover, the Olixar case renders also confirm the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are rumored to come with either a Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 processor. The US variants of the smartphone are expected to come with the Qualcomm chip under the hood, where the rest of the world might get the Exynos one. Recently, the Snapdragon 845 powered Samsung Galaxy S9+ made its appearance on Geekbench. The alleged smartphones codenamed SM-G965U1 comes with 6GB RAM. The top end device succeded in the recording a very high score of 2,422 and 8,351 in single core and multi-core test respectively. It’s, in fact, the first Samsung smartphone to overcome the 2,000 mark in a Geekbench test.
