Smartron, the upstart homegrown smartphone OEM has launched a new budget device in India. It’s called the Smartron t.phone P and sits at the bottom of the company’s smartphone lineup. The Smartron t.phone P is priced at Rs 7,999 and will be exclusively available through Flipkart starting January 17.
The Smartron t.phone P comes in a metal unibody housing. It comes only in a black hue, which makes it look and feel surprisingly premium for its price. The t.phone P features a 5.2-inch HD (1,280 x 720p) display which is covered by a layer of 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor. There’s also 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Additionally, Smartron is offering up to 100GB of cloud storage space with each device.
The budget handset comes with a 13MP AF rear camera backed by LED flash. The selfie department, on the other hand, is manned by a 5MP shooter. One of the major highlights of the t.phone P is the battery. Despite packing in a large 5,000mAh battery, the smartphone is decently light and weighs up just 160 grams. Sadly, it’s still running on Android Nougat 7.1 with Smartron own UI on top. The company has promised an Android Oreo update for the smartphone in the near future.
