Fitbit in a bid to take on Apple Watch had launched the Ionic Smartwatch last year. Unlike their other lineup, the Ionic is a mishmash between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch. Fitbit has now launched the Ionic lineup in India alongside Fitbit Aria 2 WiFi smart scale and Fitbit Flyer. The Fitbit Ionic is priced at Rs 22,990 and will be available via major retailers across India including Reliance Digital, Croma, and Helios starting next month.
The Fitbit Ionic comes with all the smartwatch features like GPS, WiFi, heart rate sensor, Bluetooth, water resistance and also swim track feature. With the Fitbit Ionic the company has for the first time introduced Watch Faces and has also roped in developers to build apps for services like Strava, Starbucks, Pandora, and Accuweather. The Fitbit Ionic is water resistance up to 50 meters and is rated to offer up to 5 days of battery life even when the automatic activity and sleep tracking is switched on.
As far as fitness features are concerned, the Ionic comes with a rebranded Fitbit Coach feature which guides you through various workouts. In addition to that, the smartwatch can automatically detect and commence a session when you start running. Unfortunately, it utilizes a proprietary strap system, hence you’ll have to shed a few extra bucks if you want a new one.
Fitbit has also worked on the heart rate monitoring system on the Ionic. The accuracy has increased and the smartwatch now offers a better calorie measure burn and also display the time heart rate zones in order to optimize intensity. Yet another mention worthy feature is the SpO2 sensor which helps users track detailed indicators about their health. Fitbit has also baked in a smartphone like notifications on the Ionic.
Fitbit Aria 2
The new Fitbit Aria 2 simplifies the setup process and improves the accuracy of the existing Aria. It still connects to the Fitbit app on your phone for syncing data and logging your weight. The design has been toned down for a more sleeker aesthetic and it now comes with a bright display for showing you the stats and greetings for times when you need the motivation.
Moreover, the Aria 2 can recognize up to eight different users and is capable of syncing their data with their individual smartwatches, fitness bands. The Fitbit app will now also assist you in creating goals via a step-by-step process which will be based on your history and health. The smart scale is priced at Rs 9,990.
Fitbit Flyer is the company’s first wireless headphone. It features a sweat proof design and offers a customisable fit. It employs the Waves MaxxAudio technology which powers Flyer’s Power Boost setting for amplifying the bass. Moreover, the headset includes AAC wireless codec and Passive Noise Isolation for blocking off any external noise. The Fitbit Flyer can also connect to two Bluetooth devices and will also let you switch between them via a 3 button control box. The Fitbit Flyer is priced at Rs 9,990.
