Garmin has today introduced yet another fitness wearable in India with the launch of the Vivomove HR. Originally announced back in September last year, the Vivomove HR is a hybrid smartwatch which features a traditional analog timepiece and underneath that, hides an OLED display for displaying all the “smart” bits of information like the weather, steps, what have you.
Because it’s not entirely a smartwatch, the Vivomove HR is capable of lasting “5 days in smart mode and up to 2 weeks in watch mode.” In addition to that, the smartwatch comes with a heartrate scanner and a handful of health tools for evaluating your stress and accordingly, asking you to relax once awhile. Of course, it also offers the usual trappings of a fitness wearable such as steps taken, calories burnt, distance traveled and more.
Other than that, the Garmin Vivomove HR comes with the standard smartwatch array of features including the ability to control music playback, locate your phone, and more. As far as the compatibility is concerned, the watch works with iPhone, Android, and even Windows.
The Vivomove HR will be available in only one color option and size — black and large. It’s priced at Rs 15,999 and will go on sale at select Helios stores and later, on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
Garmin also brought the Vivofit 4 fitness band last week to India for a sum of Rs 4,999. The wearable has nearly a year-long battery life, a color always-on display, and a waterproof exterior.
Commenting further on the launch of Vivomove HR, Mr. Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager Garmin India stated “We are very happy to announce the launch of Vivomove HR in India. A unique feature of Vivomove HR is that the watch hands dynamically move out when you interact with the touchscreen and then move back to the correct time when you are done. It is sure to win the heart of fitness enthusiasts who don’t like to compromise on fashion.”
