Samsung has not exactly been proactive when it comes to the Window PC segment. Sure they do have a handful of offerings, but these are rarely upgraded. Well, if you are looking out for a Samsung powered Windows 10 laptop the new Notebook 3, and the Notebook 5 might just fit the bill. Samsung touts the all-new Notebook 3 and the Notebook 5 best for “everyday computing” coupled with casual gaming.
The Notebook 3 is offered with a choice of a 14-inch or a 15.6-inch display while the Notebook 5 comes with a 15.5-inch display. As far as resolution is concerned, the smaller 14-inch screen offers 720p while the larger 15.6-inch ones offer 1080p or FHD. The Samsung Notebooks can be had with either an 8th Gen Intel processor or a 7th Gen Intel processor. Buyers can opt for a top of the line i7 processor along with a Nvidia MX150 graphics; perhaps this might help in giving the laptops a much-required computing edge.
Design-wise the Notebook 3 is far from sleek, in fact, they look chunky and rounded edges don’t help either (Notebook 5 is better looking of the lot). That apart the keyboard seems to be well laid out and the separate num pad will be a boon to those crunching numbers on a regular basis. In other words, as Samsung has rightly put in, both the Notebook 3 and the Notebook 5 seem like a good option for day to day computing.
Samsung is yet to announce the pricing details for both the laptops. However, the company has announced that the Notebook 3 and the Notebook 5 will go on sale in South Korea and other select countries starting from this month. Samsung is also expected to introduce the laptops in other regions by the second quarter of this year. The Notebook 3 will be available in Misty Gray, Night Charcoal, Deep Peach and Pure white. Meanwhile, the Notebook 5 is available only in Light Titan color.
