The phones with notches have divided the world into two bastions, one that hates the notch and the other that hates the notch but is ready to compromise for the full-screen bezel-less experience. ZTE has thrown a new phone into the mix, and this one comes with two notches, yes you heard it right! The ZTE Iceberg also arrives with a rather outlandish design.
The edges on the ZTE Iceberg extend in the form of transparent glass/polycarbonate, this seems to be an attempt to simulate the Iceberg looks.
Moving on, ZTE has decided to add two notches to the phone, one on the top and the other on the bottom. This is how the ZTE website puts it, “a new type of notch screen so that both sides of (the) screen can realize the interactive function of the system, which is convenient and quick.”
The presence of two notches still baffles me to some extent. Perhaps ZTE wants to say that whatever might be the orientation the phone UI will self-adjust and accommodate the notch or was designed by someone with an OCD. That apart, the ZTE Iceberg comes equipped with two front-facing stereo speakers, something that will help the device score some brownie points on the audio front.
Over the years we have seen Metal, Polycarbonate and Ceramic unibodies for the phone but the Iceberg will come with a Glass unibody. As we explained earlier, the glass protrudes out of the frame and adds to the looks of this phone. On a separate note, I can’t help but being skeptical when it comes to the glass unibody. The ZTE Iceberg offers a rear fingerprint sensor and a dual rear camera setup. ZTE has kept the specifications under the wraps, but the company is expected to launch the Iceberg later in 2018. The ZTE Iceberg is targeted at buyers in North America, Asia, and Europe.
