Reliance Jio is known for its brand partnerships. The company partners with nearly every smartphone manufacturer in India and now it has partnered with the leader in employee benefits, Sodexo. The partnership is expected to help the company extend its digital transformation which they started with Zeta last year.
For the uninitiated, Sodexo is an employee benefits program wherein the employees get coupons that can be exchanged for food items and non-alcoholic beverages. Until now, one had to use the coupons printed on a paper, but this is set to change with the Jio and Sodexo partnership.
The Sodexo Meal pass can be integrated with the JioMoney. Users will be able to use the mobile-based payments via Sodexo meal card. The partnership will enable thousands of Sodexo Merchants like stand-alone Kirana shops, restaurants, and cafes across the country to accept digital payments via Sodexo Meal Card using mobile phones. As we explained earlier, users will no more need to carry the physical cards and instead can rely on their Jio Money app. Larger organizations have a hard time distributing the Sodexo vouchers to all of its employees, and this is something that can be sorted with the digital implementation.
“Jio’s partnership with Sodexo will further Jio’s endeavor to deliver the benefits of evolving digital technologies to every Indian and allow them to live Digital Life to the fullest. The integration will bring convenience and new digital transaction options for both JioMoney and Sodexo users in India. Going forward both brands will leverage core strengths, develop synergies and expand their reach and presence in India’s growing digital ecosystem.”- Anirban S Mukerjee, Business Head, Jio Money.
The digital meal benefit solution, Sodexo Meal Card, is already up and running in Mumbai, and apparently, the response has been positive. Meanwhile, the JioMoney-Sodexo solution will be implemented across all the retail stores and eateries in India in a phased manner.
