Airtel has announced new offers that will make it easier for subscribers to upgrade to a 4G phone. As we had earlier reported, Airtel is running a campaign titled ‘Mera Pehla Phone’ and is focussing on bringing more Indians on the 4G bandwagon. Airtel has already partnered with smartphone manufacturers and is also offering cashback bundling offers for the entry-level devices.
Airtel has announced that the customers on 2G/3G mobile devices will be eligible for 30GB of free data once they upgrade to a 4G smartphone. The prepaid users will be eligible for 1GB of free data for every day for the next 30 days. This offer will be above and over any pack they choose to recharge with. Meanwhile, Postpaid customers will get Free 30GB data will roll over in the first bill cycle.

Airtel has already partnered with Samsung, Intex, Karbonn, Lava, Celkon, Motorola, Lenovo, Nokia, Itel, Zen, Karbonn and Lephone for cashback offers. That being said, thanks to the disruption brought in place by Reliance Jio, reports are stating that their will be zero 2G users in India by 2019. It’s also worth mentioning that India still has 100 million feature phone users and these are the subscribers that Airtel is targeting with the ‘Mera Pehla Phone’ initiative.
