We have seen plenty of wireless home security cameras that promise to last for months without needing a charge. Well, we do have the Blink Home Security camera that tops the list with the promised 2.7-years of battery life. Anker is a pretty famous name when it comes to chargers and powerbank. We have already covered their humongous off grid powerbank and the recently launched Qi-certified wireless charger for the Apple and Samsung devices. Eufy is Anker’s sister brand and today it has launched the EverCam.
The first thing that comes to our mind when we decide on a security camera is the hassles associated with setting it up and that includes the wires and other holes you may have to drill for mounting. EverCam helps you bid adieu to all of that with a magnetic mount that will stick to any metallic surface. Eufy EverCam is truly wireless and the inbuilt batteries are rated to last a year before needing a recharge. The best part is that none of the components of the EverCam needs to be hooked to a power source.
The camera is protected by a weather-resistant casing that houses a 140-degree wide angles lens. The Sony Exmor sensor with f/2.2 is capable of offering a live stream with resolutions of up to 1080p. All of this is priced at $219 (introductory Kickstarter offer) and Eufy is offering different discount slabs for multiple orders. Other camera features include motion detection and night vision.
As a brand, Eufy is known for offering more features at a lesser price as compared to its competitors. The company already has an Amazon Alexa powered smart speaker called Genie. The EverCam offers other class-leading features like facial recognition. At the moment, Eufy is running an EverCam Kickstarter and the campaign has managed to garner good support. The shipping is expected to happen in September.
