Google’s Plan to flood the budget market with Android Go smartphones seems to be taking a slow route. Budget smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 5A are still ruling the segment. Transsion Holdings-owned Spice has now launched F311, an Android Go smartphone priced at Rs 5,599. The smartphone will be available in Rose Gold, Black, and Phantom Red color schemes.
The Spice F311 comes equipped with a 5.45-inch Full View IPS display that offers a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels at an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.1GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 32GB.
Camera options on the Spice F311 include a 5-Megapixel sensor with LED flash and autofocus on both the sides. As explained earlier the Spice F311 runs on Android Go, a platform that is tailor-made to run optimized apps with minimal hardware requirements. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFI, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. The rear-facing fingerprint sensor doubles up as a control button for answering calls, recording voice calls and app shortcut.
The Spice F311 is backed by a 2,400mAh battery and is rated to offer up to 240 hours of standby time for each charge cycle. As of now, we don’t have many options when it comes to Android Go devices in India. On the other hand, the devices suffer from the same issue that Android One used to suffer, they fall as opposed to their competitors.
