Absinthe 2.0 can jailbreak all iOS devices except the global version of the new iPad and the iPad 2,4 (32nm chip), which will soon be supported as well.

How to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with Absinthe 2.0

Absinthe 2.0 is one of the easiest jailbreaks ever. But I’d still warn you about the risk of jailbreaking. Unless you understand completely about all the risks involved, it is better to stay away. Others can read on.

1. Make a backup of your device in iTunes by right clicking on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu and click ‘Back Up’.

2. Once your backup is complete return to your device and go to Settings –> General –> Reset –> Erase all Content and Settings. This will make the jailbreak process much faster.

3. Download Absinthe 2.0 (links given below).

4. Open Absinthe 2.0 and be sure you are still connected via USB cable to your computer.

5. Click ‘Jailbreak’ and wait. Be patient and do not disconnect your device.

5. Once jailbroken, return to iTunes and restore your backup from earlier. Right click on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu in the left panel of iTunes and click ‘Restore from Back Up’ then select the latest backup you created before.

Apple has made a reputation of providing users with great and stable apps and these have been tested by thousands of users, and their reviews stand testimony to the quality of the apps. I know iPhone GPS games can be really fun, and it’s only fair to let iPhone users see just how much fun they can have on their smartphones.

One of the more simpler iPhone GPS games, probably the most straight forward and exhausting game yet. The game consists of the map of your current location, determined via GPS. On the map, you are depicted as a blue point, and you have to run (really run, physically) from red points, which are zombies out to eat your brain. The faster you run, the more time you stay alive. When they catch you (and they will eventually catch you), you will have to input your initials and submit your score. Basically, that’s Zombie Escape. So if you are bored jogging or getting bored of your mp3’s, kick in this game and make a run for it!

4. GPS Mission Pro – Ghost Patrol

Start playing games on your real life map, with GPS Mission pro. This app gives you access to a host of games that you can enjoy on your iPhone. Get Ghost patrol and start your career as a “Ghost Buster”, travel your neighbourhood in search of ghosts and other games to play, earn souls and trade them for equipment, guns and other tools for your ghost hunt. GPS Mission Pro offers its players the possibility to use player developed games, and develop their own iPhone GPS games and invite others to play.

How you do that, is entirely up to you, if you ask me, I’d suggest making them “An offer they can’t refuse”.

The name pretty much says everything there is to know about this iPhone GPS game. Own This World is an interactive iPhone GPS game that takes place in the real world. The world is divided in territories that you must conquer. When playing the game, you will notice that the map is the city where you are, and other player’s territories are marked on the map. As you move in the real world, you will also move in the game.

You have lots of attack options available, manpower, nuke attack and many more. The purpose of the game is to conquer the entire world, so prepare your guns and get ready to jump into the fight for King of The Wold. But remember, the more territories you control, the more resources and manpower you will have at your disposal.

Top Android GPS Games

Of course, some of these games can be played on any GPS device, not necessary a smartphone and even on a web-based platform where you log on and input your location. Each of them has its own pros and cons, and they vary from Google Maps apps that give you a destination near you, or world wide hunt to get to the next checkpoint.

Enough chat, let’s get to business:

5. Geocaching

Although not the cheapest app of the list, Geocaching is probably the best known of all, as Groundspeak’s Official Geocaching App. We did write about it in the past, too. This Android GPS game gives you direct access to Geocaching.com’s database of geocaches. A great feature of this game is the compass that points to the next item on your list and the ability to leave notes to other players or read notes to find your items quicker. A great game, but with tiny issues of compatibility that we hope they will resolve in the next versions.

4.WhereYouGo

If you are a fan of scavenger hunts, then WhereYouGo will definitely be lots of fun! The game is based on different virtual “gifts” left in different locations by other users. To have access to these, you have to download the map on your PC and then load it into your app. Then it’s just a race to get there before others. The game is lots of fun, the only thing I do not like about this Android GPS game is the fact that you cannot download the list, called “cartridge”. But I hope this setback will be ironed out. After completing your tasks, you have the possibility to leave gifts for others who come after you, and so, the game continues.

3.Tourality GPS Treasure Hunt

Some of you might be familiar with this Android GPS Game. It was featured on a very popular British TV series and it was nominated for Best Real World Game in 2011 at IMGA. The game is basically a city-wide scavenger hunt game, in which you have to reach different checkpoints. The game is best played in multi-player, and this type of game-play supports up to 40 players. Also, if you buy and register the game, you get access to lots of other features, including customizable games and many more. The UI of the game is quite user friendly, so you and your friends won’t have too much hustle setting up.

2. CYA (Claim Your Area)

Open your map and start fighting with your friends over your city. Claim your Area is a real strategy game in which you start with your city’s map and you have to fight your way to become the biggest. The map is divided into fields that you need to claim and then protect from other players. To do this, you need drones, and any claimed field gives you resources that you need to gather in order to expand your empire.

You can also connect to your Facebook account and play with your friends. The game is quite challenging because you have to find the perfect ballance between occupied fields and available drones (each field requires 1 drone to be left behind). Reminds me of Sid Mayer’s Civilisation in a way, so get your thinking caps on and start playing.

1. Zombie, Run!

This could very well be my favorite Android GPS game. I played a few times on my way back from school and a few test runs around the city. The game is really simple to set up, just select the difficulty of the game you want. You have 3 difficulties to choose from:

• Night of the Living Dead
• Resident Evil
• 28 Days Later

These determine how fast the zombies move on the map. In the other query box, you have to fill in the amount of zombies want, ranging from “Local Infection” to “Full scale Invasion”. Also the latest version has support for multi-player game, although this feature is still in beta. If you are looking for a good Android GPS game, this is my top pick!

I’ve tested a few of these games and I must say, for a not so outdoor person such as me, they are both really fun, challenging and exhausting. After 4 hours of running on the streets, I got home and crashed in bed. So, get some training before starting to play, just some friendly advice. For me, being a couch potato, I’m still sticking with a mouse and keyboard, but for those who like spending time outdoor, GPS games are a great solution for having lots of fun and staying fit.

If you’re extra curious of seeing what goodies Firefox 11 brings along wrapped around its tail, then read on.

What is New in Firefox 11?

Most of the changes seem to deal with developer issues and mostly do not hit a lot average user connected chords.  What will be the most visible change for the basic user? Well, with the new browser comes the ability to sync add-ons across multiple computers that use Firefox Sync. We didn’t hear anything about JavaScript performance, improvement that has been made in Firefox 9.

Firefox 11 Comes With HTML 5 Changes, 3D View and Goodies for Developers

Another novelty consists in new HTML5 video controls. Importing bookmarks, history and cookies from Google Chrome has become available. One annoying Growl 1.3 notification bug has also been fixed. There’s good news for Android system users, too. Apparently, from now on, Adobe Flash player (which still has a future) is now supported within the browsers for Android 2.3 and earlier. Support for Android 3.0 is also expected in the future. Users might also notice the improved speed of Firefox 11, not to mention browsing has become now even more secure. And that’s where the line ends for non-professionals.

For developers, the list goes on with some extra specs. Like the fact that the CSS-text-size-adjust property has been enabled or that the outer HTML feat is now supported on HTML elements. Professionals will be able to appreciate other improvements such as files being stored in IndexedDB or the fact that Websockets have been unprefixed. Web developers get a treat as well – they can now visualize a web page in 3D using the Page Inspector 3D View.  Bottom line, it seems the new version has something to offer to technical users as well as those who are in it just for the fun of it. To sum up, here are the main updates:

• Sync Add-ons on multiple computers with Firefox Sync
• Importing bookmarks, cookies and history from Chrome
• Growl 1.3 bug fixed
• Improved speed
• View web page in 3D
• Redesigned media controls for HTML5 video
• Support for Google’s SPDY protocol

Some issues still remained, though:

• If you try to start Firefox using a locked profile, it will crash (see 573369)
• For some users, scrolling in the main GMail window will be slower than usual (see 579260)
• Some synaptic touch pads are unable to vertical scroll (see 622410)
• OS X: WebGL performance may be degraded on some hardware (see 713305)
•  Windows: The use of Microsoft’s System Restore functionality shortly after updating Firefox may prevent future updates (see 730285)

iOS 5.1 Features

As it was reveiled during the event, we’ve got good news for Siri lovers in Japan, as it seems the engineers at Apple have managed to teach Siri Japanese. If you ask me, I can’t wait for the moment when Siri will know all the languages for the countries where it’s going to be available. Apple should really emphasize that aspect, as it would really boost their already incredible sales records.

A very needed feature and one that always appeals to users is the battery life improvement. Let’s hope they don’t increase it by 0.1-0.5% and claim that as a battery improvement! Besides that, with iOS 5.1, you will be able to delete photos from the Photo Stream and you will have  a permanent camera icon on the locksreen. Facebook Messenger Launched for Windows

“If you use Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac or another operating system, you won’t be able to install the app at this time,”

warns the official page. One of the advantages the Facebook Messenger brings to the fans is not only the option to keep in touch with friends and family who have Facebook accounts but also keeps users up to date with their news feeds, which could be replaced with Interest Lists soon. With this app, users will get notifications from their favorite Facebook pages as soon as they become available.

Practically, the new Messenger feature brings all the essential tools of the popular network even if the users are not on Facebook.

“Users also browse other websites and run computer programs, so it’s easy to miss important stuff. Maybe a cousin just posted about getting a new job, or a best friend wants to chat about dinner plans for tonight. You should be able to stay in touch anytime, no matter what you’re doing,”

explained Jack O’Connor, software engineer on the Messenger team.

According to the presentation page, the Messenger for Windows has a simple intuitive user interface, unlike some previous unfortunate design experiments that disappointed Facebook fans. Users have two separate windows to manage the information and the communication with Facebook Messenger. One of them is the familiar right column we see on Facebook, dedicated to contacts, but now this window also displays the news feeds.

The second window is reserved for chats and offers a tab browsing in order to give the users the possibility to keep their desktop clean. Facebook Messenger for Windows comes with support for 24 languages, the most important one are these

Messenger was the only thing we knew…

It makes these bars black, and in combination with the color adjuster above, it makes Gmail account look awesome! And a bonus, it makes your Google main page a calm blue color. Best of all, it comes with the Stylish installer, just to give you a taste of what you can do with your account.

Google Redesigned

Using Gmail, Google Reader or Google Docs? Don’t like the way they look? Well, prepare for a big change! Google Redesigned really keeps up with its name and it makes these Google services look better than ever. I absolutely love the way they look. I recommend it to anyone who wants to move from the old, boring style of Gmail to something new and interesting.

I could never understand why some people would want to revert back to that mess, but anyway, I’m not judging anyone. And to answer that question, yes, you can temporally revert back to the old Gmail look. It’s really simple, just hit Options and click Revert to the old look temporally. And there you go, you can once again enjoy the old-school Gmail look. But enjoy while you can, because from the looks of it, Google is enforcing the new look and it’s possible that it could very well become the default theme.
