You might have come across a situation where your CD-ROM is non-functional or DVD drive is inaccessible, but you want to install Windows Vista or Windows 7. Obviously, you will need a USB bootable disk which can be used to install Windows on your PC or laptop even without your DVD drive.

There are several utilities to make the USB drive bootable but none of them are compatible with the latest OS from Microsoft – Windows 7. But don’t worry, AskVg has released a tool which creates a bootable USB drive to install Windows Vista, Server 2008 or Windows 7.

Its a portable utility so doesn’t need installation. All you have to do is follow these 4 simple steps –

  1. Check USB drive (To check whether your USB drive is attached or not)
  2. Format USB drive
  3. Choose DVD or ISO image (To copy the required files to USB drive)
  4. Start the process to create bootable USB drive

  1. Daniel, thanks so much for having the phrase “windows tiny 7” in your comment… if it weren’t for you i wouldn’t have found this app!!! (I searched for

“windows tiny 7” install from usb stick

Now to see if it actually works with Windows Tiny 7 (the iso is very different from an official MS iso, all other “iso to bootable usb” apps have a hard time with it)

    Crossing fingers….
