Earlier this month, Microsoft unveiled a big list of Windows Phone 7 handsets for over 30 countries which arrive this fall. Though the initial impressions of the WP7 OS was mixed, it has still managed to evoke enough interests amongst the developer community who have already brought out some cool Free WP7 Apps in the Windows Phone 7 market place.

The official Twitter app for Windows Phone 7 is ready for download now and the initial reviews are pretty mixed. Windows Phone 7 is known for its UI & UX and the initial version of Twitter seems to do a good job when it comes to UI, but not so good when it comes to UX, as found out by @BrandonWatson. We can expect Twitter to fix this up very soon.
The official Facebook app for WP7 has now popped up on the Windows marketplace and seems like it is developed by Microsoft themselves. We aren’t sure how it fares compared to the official FB app for iOS & Android, but definitely looks sexy like other WP7 apps!
3. Seesmic for WP7
Seesmic is one of the first folks to release an official app for WP7 with a natural and intuitive interface. As with other Seesmic apps, you can integrate your Twitter & Facebook profiles with a customized dashboard and support for cross-posting on multiple accounts. The app boasts over 50 available plug-ins.
Shazam – the app which revolutionized iOS innovative apps in a way has an official app for WP7 as well. With a beautiful interface, Shazam for WP7 looks like a winner all the way! You can tag an unlimited number of songs to find out what that catchy number on the radio is.
Foursquare, the popular location based social app, has a well made & comprehensive app for WP7 phones as well. One of the features includes an integrated map and directions that allows users to find where they want to go within the app and navigate to a location.
eBay’s app for Windows Phone 7 allows users to search, bid, buy and check their buying and selling activity. The app uses Microsoft’s panoramic interface and Windows Phone 7’s push notification technology so users can recive real-time alerts on deals and best offer activity.
7. Adobe Reader X
The official Adobe Reader app for Windows Phone 7 lets you view and manage PDFs on your device. It automatically launches when you open up a PDF – whether it’s from a URL or within an email attachment and also keeps track of all of the recent PDFs you’ve opened.
Initially, there were doubts if there will be any YouTube app for WP7. Luckily, there is one now. But then, it is nothing more than a wrapper around the mobile version of YouTube which can search and play videos from YouTube.
SlingPlayer acts as a viewer for TV and other video sent over the internet from your home media set-up using a SlingBox – Sling Media’s video streaming gadget. You can plug the SlingBox into a PC, DVD, Blu-ray or other video device and watch stuff on your phone by sending it over the net like your own personal TV channel.

Slacker Radio is much like last.fm and Pandora but has a personal feel with many preset radio stations and a nice UI. Slacker Radio is also available for: BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, Palm webOS, Windows Mobile, Sony Walkman, Sony BRAVIA TV, Sony Blu-ray Player as well as other devices.
As the name suggests, iHeartRadio is a streaming internet radio app for WP7 with 750 stations from across America. You get lyrics for the track playing and a link to buy it in the marketplace, or you can sign up for a free account to build your own stations
12. Flickr Manager
Flickr Manager is a cool and free WP7 app to manage your Flickr account. It lets you upload photos from your phone, add comments and even see basic account traffic stats.
Flixster for Wp7 is a must have free app for movie freaks. This app lets you find movies showtimes, movie ratings from reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and the latest info on the box office. The stylish menu lets you choose from box office, theaters, upcoming, DVDs, search, and settings.
The Netflix client for Windows Phone is well made and takes advantage of that system’s unique UI conventions while retaining virtually identical functionality as its iPhone cousin. It can be used in either portrait or landscape mode, though video playback always occurs in landscape.
With the power of Yelp’s community ratings, you can find the best spots to eat, drink, shop, and more, all based on your GPS location. The app looks great in the WP7 form factor, and the pages have large icons to help you find what’s good around you.
