Lava has announced the launch of the Iris Fuel 60, which is an upgrade to the recently launched Iris Fuel 50 and the second smartphone in the ‘iris Fuel’ line of products. What makes the product stand apart from others is that it packs a massive 4000 mAh battery for a price of Rs 8,888 (around $140). Thus, it will compete with such products as the recently announced Gionee Marathon M3 and others.
The massive 4000 mAh battery is said to last up to 32 hours of talk time on 2G. The device also comes with the quick charge technology that charges the device in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Lava says that the device has been manufactured by using a “solder-less” technology where each component is connected to PCBA via connectors, thus resulting in lesser defects and making it easier to be repaired.
- 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7
- 1GB RAM
- 8 GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB
- Android KitKat 4.4
- 5 inch HD IPS Display with Full Lamination and 720 x 1280 (HD) resolution with Corning 3 Gorilla Glass
- Primary camera of 10 megapixel with single LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera
- 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v3.0, OTG support, dual-SIM
Lava says the phone will be upgraded to Android L via firmware over the air in the future, but hasn’t hinted to an approximate date. The camera also supports full HD Video recording and digital zoom with built in auto-focus, panorama, HDR mode, face detection, smile shot and voice capture.
Compared to its predecessor, it improves the battery (3000 mAH capacity in the previous one) and the camera (8MP in the Iris Fuel 50), among others. Mr. Navin Chawla, Vice President & Head Product, LAVA International said the following:
Today, we are delighted to announce the launch of a new member to our Fuel series of high powered battery smartphones, Iris Fuel 60 with stupendous battery of 4000 mAh is designed to provide users a relief from all battery and power bank hassles.
