The rumor mills have been talking about a device codenamed YU5050, which is expected to make its mark in the smartphone market as the “cheapest smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 810”. The piece of rumor was further substantiated by the AnTuTu benchmark test wherein the YU5050 scored a whopping 64938 in performance mode.
The smartphone has also made an appearance on India’s import export listing site, Zauba. The listing further reveals that the smartphone will come equipped with a 5.2-inch display unit which is most likely to be set at an resolution of 1080p (FHD). The Snapdragon 810 SoC will be mated with a mammoth 4GB of RAM and the device will run Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
A careful peek into the import listing shows that the device is imported at a price of Rs 20,752 which roughly conveys the fact that final price of the device can hover around Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 price range. The new YU device seems to be squarely aimed at the OnePlus 2 and we just hope that it also comes with all the bells and whistles, in order to battle the OnePlus 2.
YU also seems to be prepping an entry level smartphone which will be powered by the Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.21GHz and paired with 1GB of RAM. This could very well be the cheapest phone from the YU stables and ironically it will compete with Micromax smartphones in the similar price bracket.
The company has already announced that it will be launching a new device on September 8 exclusively on Snapdeal, and in all likelihood the new smartphone will be complemented with accessories like Yu Yubic Bluetooth speakers and the 10,000mAh battery pack.
