Just as expected, Motorola has pulled the wraps from the Moto X Style at an event in New Delhi, India. The Moto X Style is supposed to be Motorola’s flagship phone that offers a great set of features at an affordable price point. The Moto X Style will be priced starting from Rs 29,999 and will go up to Rs 31,999 for the top of the range variant.
Motorola Moto X Style features a 5.7-inch QuadHD display which offers a staggering pixel density of 515ppi and under the hood lies a Snapdragon 808 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with a 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device offers 16/32/64GB of onboard storage along with a microSD card that can accommodate an extra 128GB.
Imaging department consists of a 21-Megapixel primary sensor with phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. The secondary camera shapes up in the form of a 5-Megapixel sensor which will be coupled with a LED flash. The camera boasts of 4K video capturing capability and it is powered by a 3,000mAh battery pack. The camera application offers features like Video Stabilization, drag to focus and exposure, Auto HDR and Dual Color Correlated Temperature flash.
Motorola has also demoed its turbo charging feature which will charge the device to 35% in just 15 minutes and claiming it to be the fastest charging phone in the world. Sadly, it misses out on the fingerprint scanner which has become a norm on flagship smartphones.
As with all the other Motorola phones, the best part of the deal is the promised Android update. As of now, the Moto X Style will be running Android 5.1.1, but will soon get the Marshmallow update. The Moto X Style comes with standard connectivity options including LTE (cat. 6), Wi-Fi, NFC, Dual SIM and GPS.
Moto X Style is currently being sold in the U.S market as Moto X Pure and is available at a sticker price of $399, but that being said, the Moto X Pure is a single SIM device whereas the Moto X Style is a dual SIM one. The fact that new Nexuses are being priced slightly higher than its previous generations has sort of created a void in the affordable flagship smartphone segment, which has now been dominated by smartphones like OnePlus 2. The OnePlus 2 is not only equipped with better hardware and features, but it also comes at a lower price tag of Rs 25,000, but has its issue with availability. And then, the Nexus 5X is also been priced at 32K which will bring it in the vicinity of Moto X Style pricing, the crux of the matter is that Moto X Style has a fierce competition to battle out.
Unsurprisingly, Motorola has partnered with Flipkart for sales and they have announced some freebies for the Moto X Style buyers. Motorola is offering a 100% cashback for 100 lucky customers and a Rs 5000 discount voucher from Makemytrip, what’s more they are also giving off a Rs 1,000 EGV for all buyers and a buyback scheme as well. Moto X Style will be available starting midnight of October 14.
