Windows 10 Mobile Starts Seeding for Selected Windows Phone 8.1 Devices
Windows 10 has been one of the most widely used Windows operating system across several PC’s but the same is not true when it comes to the Windows 10 Mobile. After Microsoft announced Windows 10 Mobile last year it has not really picked pace despite the fact that this time around companies like Xiaomi for the first time unveiled Windows edition for its smartphone.
On the hitherto Windows 8.1 users felt left in the lurch with no news about the update, something that Microsoft had promised in the beginning, now it seems that a bunch of Lumia handsets will be treated to a Windows 10 upgrade.
Microsoft’s Micheal Fortin quoted “Today, we’re pleased to begin the roll-out of Windows 10 Mobile to select Windows Phone 8.1 devices, Consistent with our approach to the Windows 10 PC upgrade, we are focused on delivering a high-quality experience for our customers. The Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app can be downloaded from the Windows Store to see if the upgrade is available for your device.”
So here is the list of handsets which will get an update, Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640 XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635, 636 1GB, 638, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLUE Win HD LTE x150q and the last one in the list is the MCJ Madosma Q501.
We need to understand that Windows phones still have considerable fan following, people who swear by Windows phones. However, some of the folks won’t be delighted since the device they used were able to run the preview but were left out in the final build. On a related Windows 10 Mobile has been to climb the numbers when it comes to adoption rates, as of December last year Windows 10 Mobile had already achieved 8.8% installs.
