OnePlus One disrupted the industry by packing in class leading flagship specs in a device that cost almost half of the as opposed to the flagship lineup during the time. Apart from that, OnePlus was also notoriously famous for its invite only system which is now a thing of the past. OnePlus has always been online exclusive and was relying on Amazon India completely for its sales and distribution. Now, for the first time the company has announced its exclusive e-commerce website in India, OnePlusStore.in.

As we mentioned, until now, OnePlus was mostly relying on Amazon.in for its online sales and with the launch of Oneplusstore it is all set to change. In order to get the potential customers onboard, OnePlus will start offering exclusive merchandise and limited-time offers for its early supporters. It is most likely that the OnePlus fans will have a silver lining in terms of offers and discounts. OnePlus owners need to register themselves on the site by furnishing the IMEI details of their smartphones and start shopping.

Vikas Agarwal, General Manager-India, OnePlus stated that “We are very excited to bring the globally acclaimed OnePlus shopping experience to our fans in India. With the new platform, our users will find it easier to purchase genuine OnePlus products and fan merchandise, right from the comfort of their homes. The e-commerce platform marks yet another major milestone in our India journey and reiterates our long term commitment towards the Indian market and our fan community here.

Other Chinese players including Xiaomi and LeEco have already set up their exclusive online stores and are also coming up with experience stores in India. The push for offline sales has been the strongest with even companies like Huawei selling their Honor series via offline channels. On a related note, OnePlus had earlier announced that it will be soon coming up with experience stores in India, starting with Bangalore.

Amazon and OnePlus have had a great partnership since inception in India. Amazon is known to have put a lot of its marketing muscle to push OnePlus smartphones, and we can still see how they still use OnePlus 3 in all their TV commercials. This new development wouldn’t be favorable to Amazon, but OnePlus seems to be confident enough to go all alone in India.

Update: OnePlus has confirmed that Amazon continues to be a partner and the phones will continue to be sold on Amazon.in. The new OnePlusStore will carry the accessories for now.
