Microsoft has finally announced the availability of Windows 10 Creators Update which is expected to be one of the biggest Windows 10 updates this year. The update will begin rolling out globally starting from April 11. The Creators update not only fixes bugs and performance issues but it also comes bundled with new features and is aimed at helping the creative workforce including architects, inventors, educators and students. The emphasis is mostly on creating new things on the Windows 10.
The Paint 3D app that was announced last year grabbed eyeballs since its one of the major overhaul to the Paint app since more than a decade. The update moves on from the 2-D canvas on the Paint and offers a multilayered 3D environment. Users can easily create 3D objects from scratch and also play with the colors, stamping textures and also convert 2D artworks into 3D. Offering a bouquet of readymade content is Remix3D.com and one can use the objects from here.
Microsoft has also announced that Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo will be offering the first Windows Mixed Reality-enabled headsets along with the Creators update priced at $299. Also arriving with the Windows 10 Creators update is the Game Mode which is designed to enrich your gaming experience by dedicating computing resources to the gaming part. Also worth mentioning is the native game broadcasting feature which is powered by Beam.
Microsoft Edge is also expected to be faster and offers a better overall experience. The company has also been touting how Microsoft Edge is better than the Chrome when it comes to blocking phishing sites and ho the former makes your battery last for up to 1.5 hours longer when it comes to streaming videos. Other improvements also include the new advanced tab management that helps you manage the tabs in an efficient manner and the ability to play Netflix movies and TV shows in 4K Ultra HD resolution.
With the Creators update, Windows 10 will also get the night light feature that recently made it to macOS. The feature is expected to restrict the night light emission and help users sleep better. Parental management features have also gotten better with the ability to restrict screen time limits for Windows 10 and also across Xbox One and individual games. Windows 10 users can download the Creators update by heading over to Update Assistant or clean install using an ISO.
Also, Surface Hub customers across the globe will receive the Windows 10 Creators Update for Surface Hub and apps like Skype and Whiteboard will be specially designed to work in tandem with the Creators update. Surface Book will also be now available for preorder in countries including Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The Surface Book will be available for purchase starting from April 20th. However, Surface Studio and Surface Dial will only be available for purchase starting on April 20th in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
