At times, parenting can really take a toll on the parents, especially when the baby refuses to retire for the night and wakes up at unruly hours. Putting them back to sleep takes expertise (and patience, of course) and one of the ways to do so is taking your kid on a car ride and the associated motion will put them to sleep. That said, taking your child for a spin at 2 AM is not something you want to do especially after being sleepy yourself. Ford Motors has put its ingenuity to play and has come up with a special crib.
Yes, the Max Motor Dreams is a new baby crib from Ford that simulates the motion of your car and rocks your baby to sleep. The crib also simulates the gentle purr of the engine along with the vibrations all without actually firing up your car and wasting precious fossil fuels. Ford’s press release talks about how new parents can expect the loss of sleep that can be equivalent to up to 44 days of sleep. The prototype takes all the pain to simulate the real time car scenario and the detailing means that the crib will come with LED lights resembling the one on the streets at night.
“But while a quick drive in the family car can work wonders in getting baby off to sleep, the poor old parents still have to be awake and alert at the wheel. The Max Motor Dreams could make the everyday lives of a lot of people a little bit better”
That said, the crib looks surprisingly pleasant and comes with a companion app that lets you control the crib. The speaker on the crib plays the engine sounds while the base of the crib simulates a rocking movement in tandem with the LED lights around the periphery of the crib. What’s more, the companion app also records your car’s route so that it can reproduce similar movements for your baby. That said, this is mostly a pilot from Ford but the company has expressed its interest in taking this up seriously and making it available to the public.
