Bezel-Less phones have been pretty much the order of the year. Most of the OEM’s seem to be racing towards adding a bezel-less phone to their premium segment and this race apparently also includes Apple. UMI has previously demoed Hammer, a rugged smartphone that apparently took the violent drop test among many other things with a hint of grace. The company had announced UMIDIGI Crystal, a bezel-less smartphone in March this year but has announced the specifications only now.
The UMIDIGI Crystal comes with a 5.5-inch Sharp Full-Screen FHD display along with a 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. UMI claims that the new display results in up to 30-percent less power consumption. UMI has also wrapped the device with a glass cover at the back, and the fingerprint sensor is also rear facing. On the storage front, buyers will be given a choice between 16GB or 64GB internal memory options. The UMIDIGI Crystal is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 4GB/2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the UMIDIGI Crystal offers 64GB of internal memory. Backing the device is a generous 3000mAh pack.
The imaging arrangements on the UMIDIGI Crystal includes a 13MP+5MP rear dual camera setup which helps in achieving a better depth of field. On the software front, the UMIDIGI Crystal runs on Android Nougat out of the box and the device is up for pre-sale subscription starting from 12 PM CET on 15 of August. The most attractive part is the $99 pricing for the base variant.
