Xiaomi always has a surprise down its sleeve. At the launch event of its highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the Chinese OEM unveiled its latest ultrabook. It is called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro. As evident from the name, it will sit at the top of the company’s Windows 10 powered notebook lineup.
Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro is a direct competitor to MacBook Pro. Naturally, Xiaomi has taken a major part of the design inspiration from the High Sierra powered laptop. The Mi Notebook Pro uses a magnesium alloy chassis that gives it enough strength to survive hits and drops that it may encounter during regular usage. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro is by far the largest laptop from Xiaomi. The pack leaked ultrabook sports a 15.6-inch display with 72% NTSC color gamut and a minimal 6.52 mm wide bezels to the sides. Additionally, glass front of the Mi Notebook Pro has been bolstered by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro is powered by the Intel’s latest 8th generation chip. Specifically, the top end ultrabook packs an Intel Core i7 Coffee Lake quad core processor with cores clocked at 4.0GHz. The graphics department, on the other hand, is manned by a powerful NVidia GeForce MX150. Apart from that, the Mi Notebook Pro comes 2,400MHz dual channel RAM. The top end variant of the ultrabook also sports a 256GB PCIe SSD. Xiaomi has included an SSD expansion slot. To top that up, Xiaomi is using a symmetrical super cooling system to keep the temperature under control on the inside.
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor located within the trackpad. This essentially means that the laptop comes with support for Windows Hello. Besides, it also comes with a Harman Infinity custom built speakers and Dolby Atmos certification. Xiaomi has paid attention to details with the Mi Notebook Pro. It comes with a new improved keyboard which according to Xiaomi President, Lin Bin, would provide an enhance typing experience. Each key is evenly spaced out and is also backlit.
The latest flagship ultrabook from Xiaomi comes with a total of 7 integrated ports. These include a 3-in-1 SD slot, data USB Type C, full function USB Type C, HDMI, 2 x USB 3.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Mi Notebook Air supports 1C quick charge and comes with a 60Wh long battery life.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro comes in Space Gray color option. It will be available in three different variants. The standard variant of the Mi Notebook Pro comprises of an Intel Core i5 Coffee Lake processor with 8GB RAM. It is priced at 5,599 Yuan (Rs 54,900/$859). Other two variants are priced at 6,399 Yuan (Rs 62,690/$980) and 6,999 Yuan (Rs 68,575/$1,099) boast of 8th gen Intel Core i7 with 8GB RAM and 16GB RAM respectively.
