Google is finally upping its Android One game. It has not just expanded its Android One program to new countries but has also started rolling out mid-range devices developed by leading OEMs. Previously, Google had mainly limited its program to budget devices. After launching the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto X4 Android One version, Google is now set to announce the HTC U11 Life.
Rumors regarding the HTC U11 Life have been floating around for the past few months, with reputed tipster @evleaks revealing the look of the device. Now another renowned HTC leakster, @LlabTooFer, has divulged the specifications of the upcoming Android One handset.
The HTC U11 Life is codenamed as Ocean_Life. As per the tipster, the Android One mid-range will launch with Android Oreo out of the box. Also, it would be the first Android One to do so. The Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto X4 run on Android Nougat. Internally, the HTC U11 Life will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor. Additionally, the smartphone will come in two variants. One will come with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and other with 4GB RAM/64GB storage.
Finally, the HTC U11 Life will feature a 16-megapixel front and rear cameras. The rear camera will be backed by an LED Flash. Besides, it will come with 2,600mAh battery, IP67 water and dust certification and Edge Sense. Moreover, @LlabTooFer also claims that the HTC U11 Life will come with USonic earphones within the box.
Overall, the HTC U11 Life appears to be another mid-range offering from Android One’s stable. Just hope HTC gets the pricing right. And that’s something the Taiwanese firm has completely messed up during the past few years. It would be great if HTC prices the U11 Life at around $350. And we are not sure if it makes it to the Indian shores.
