One of the quirks of Instagram Stories was that it disallowed users to upload media that is more than 24-hours. I have always found this limitation to be unnecessary. Instagram has finally acted upon and has removed the 24-hour limit on the media files for the Stories. What this means is that you can upload media files that are older than 24-hours to the Instagram stories.
That apart a new date sticker will automatically appear on the stories and perhaps this is to serve as a context to the viewers. However, you will still be able to move the sticker around, resize and even delete it if needed. The Instagram Stories was originally announced last year and it has been one of the most popular features. In fact, it was this very feature that was borrowed by WhatsApp and later manifested into WhatsApp “Live Status.” The Social media platform has now added Live Streaming to the stories along with a plethora of other camera options including the famous Boomerang Effect and the other filters.
Instagram recently added Poll Stickers that let you ask friends about literally anything and they could take a pick. The Poll Stickers came with a live vote counter and also showed who voted for what at the end of the poll. Furthermore, the social media platform also added eyedropper too which would let you pick colors from the picture and use it in the text and brushes.
As of September 2017, Instagram had around 800 Million active users and it ranks as one of the most popular social networks worldwide. That said, please ensure that you have updated your Instagram to version 22 in order to get rid of the 24-hour media limit.
