Xiaomi had earlier announced an Oreo beta program for selected Mi A1 smartphones. The new beta build is expected to make the fingerprint sensor faster and improve the dual-SIM feature as well. The Mi A1 is the first device Xiaomi with a stock Android with a promised upgrade to Android P as well. That apart, the Mi A1 didn’t support fast charging out of the box, and apparently, Xiaomi has decided to plug this shortcoming.
As per recent reports, Xiaomi will be enabling the fast charging in the latest beta build and this is a great news for folks who were waiting for the fast charging feature. The report also mentions that the app loading and the animation transition have also become much quicker and smoother. That apart, one would also be getting all the other Android Oreo features including the new PiP mode.
Post update, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is expected to charge from 0-100 in 92 minutes as opposed to the earlier two hours. Meanwhile, Xiaomi had also promised a final release of Android Oreo for the Mi A1 by the end of this year and we hope that it is rolled out on time. It is heartening to see manufacturers rolling out updates to bring in new features, for instance OnePlus recently added the Face Unlock feature on the OnePlus 5 with an Oreo update.
