Useful tech goes a long way in helping us cope up with adverse effects of our stressful lifestyle. Most of us work late hours and also travel often, while all of this does stress out physically it also affects our mental peace. The Dreamlight is an eye mask with a difference. This one comes with an optical heart rate monitor, IR sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes and four speakers that are fitted into the side strap.
The makers of Dreamlight claim that the futuristic eye mask not only helps you sleep better but will also help your overcome jet-lag in a much better way. The ergonomics is touted as the best and the eye mask comes with a companion app. With the app, one can track the sleep schedule and also link to your personal gene profile and get a customised sleep schedule. Well, the mask is also said to reduce the adverse effects of change in your sleep cycle and also help you relax during flights.
This is how the Dreamlight works, the inside of the eye-mask is lined with LED panels which lay in front of both your eyes. These panels will help you fall asleep and also get up early in the morning. Unlike the cruel alarm, the Dreamlight uses light to wake users up. However, the light is the only method to wake you up while the ambient sounds help you fall asleep.
I was one among the many who simply rubbished the need for any sleep monitoring devices. I was brash enough to have ignored the damage blue light from my cellphone display did to my sleep cycle. In the recent past, I have been using a fitness band for sleep tracking and analysis. With the data, I could easily deduce how the way I slept or woke up affected my daily energy level.
Moving on, the Dreamlight uses Gene Profiles from 23 and Me to optimise the sleep cycle to the last detail. The internal lights also help in improving the level of relaxation and achieve better REM cycles (Rapid Eye Movement). The Dreamlight will be up for grabs via an Indiegogo campaign starting from 24th of January.
