Last year Microsoft launched the much awaited Xbox One X, a 4K HDR gaming console. Despite being launched in July last year the Xbox One X was only available starting from November 2017. Microsoft has now launched the Xbox One X in India and has priced the same at Rs 44,990. The Xbox One X will be available starting from Tuesday on Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Landmark and the Microsoft India stores. Additionally, the console will also be available across the other speciality gaming stores across India.
The new console is the smallest Xbox ever, however, despite the smaller footprint, the design looks pretty much similar to the ongoing Xbox One S. The Xbox One X lacks dedicated Kinect port and comes with just the HDMI-in port. Microsoft will currently start shipping the Xbox One X in black color with 1TB of storage. The 6-teraflop Scorpio engine will support an array of 4K, and 1080p formats and the supersampling is expected to enhance the experience further by adding more details. Even the PS4 Pro comes with 4.2-teraflops of graphical prowess.
The Xbox One X is fitted with a custom GPU that runs at 1172MHz as opposed to the 853MHz on its predecessor. Furthermore, the Xbox One will also feature an Ultra HD Blu-Ray drive that supports 4K. As per Microsoft, the Xbox One games that usually run on 900p and 1080p should be rendered at native 4K on the Xbox One X and increase in performance while playing the Xbox One gaming titles should also be noticeable.
The Xbox One X launch comes at the right time especially since the PS4 Pro is currently suffering from supply issue. Meanwhile, Microsoft has been wise enough to know the criterions for its buyers to upgrade from an Xbox One. Apart from the 4K card, Microsoft has also included backward compatibility in all sense so that the current Xbox users don’t have to invest in new titles, the same holds good for controllers as well.
