ASUS has kickstarted its 2018 releases by introducing the Zenfone 5 family of phones. The series was announced today here at the MWC 2018 and the actual launch in different parts of the world will happen through the next few months. And at the bottom of the pyramid is the Zenfone 5 Lite which is aimed at delivering mid-range specs but with the design of a premium phone.
The 5 Lite comes with a 5.7-inch full HD+ display with a glossy unibody build. One of the key differences between the series 4 and the 5 will be the taller 18:9 aspect ratio displays. Another difference is the fact that the fingerprint scanner is now at the rear of the phone as against the front bottom in the series 4.
The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, which is known to be a power efficient processor delivering decent performances for the midrange phones. The key highlight of the phone is the 2 pairs of cameras, on the front and the back, both the pairs come with LED flash and have wide angle ability as their selling proposition. The phone runs on the yesteryear Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Zen UI 5 which is a disappointment.
ASUS Zenfone 5 Lite Specifications:
- 5.7-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 GHz with 3/4GB RAM
- 32GB/64GB of internal memory

The price and the availability of the phones across different regions is yet to be announced but we expect this to come to India in a month or two. It depends on how ASUS will price this phone and how it will compete with the likes of Moto X4, the Redmi 5 Pro and so on. Stay tuned!
